Meet Ride Director Bill Plock

I grew up in Golden, Colorado, and have spent most of my adult life riding bikes, competing in triathlons, writing stories for 303 Cycling and Cycling West, and creating content for others. I have covered many races, including the IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, the Pro Challenge, Colorado Classic, and Tour of the Gila, plus countless local races. I directed Ride the Rockies in 2022 and started Colorado’s Ride in 2023.

More importantly, I have ridden tens of thousands of miles and participated in large and small events: The TD Five Boro Bike Tour, RAGBRAI, Tour of Tucson, Haute Route, the Triple Bypass, and many others. I did a tour with EF Adventures, riding in Spain for a week.

All of that to say, I have been in your pedals, so to speak. I have high expectations of what a bike tour should be. I take Colorado’s Ride very seriously. It is more than my livelihood. I have a huge passion for showing people cool things, sharing history, creating memorable moments, and opening their imagination while exploring Colorado.

I want you to have fun while safely riding in the Rocky Mountains. I want you to explore our small towns and experience the nuances that make them unique.

Please know, I understand this is your vacation. It’s an investment for you both financially and with your time. You could’ve chosen something different for your week off. I am honored you chose Colorado’s Ride, and I can’t wait to meet you.
