Travel Logistics.

  • Air Travel.

The Durango - La Plata county airport has daily flights serviced by United Airlines & American Airlines. Airport shuttles are available to/from town.

  • Bike Shipping.

2nd Ave Sports is the official bike shop of Colorado’s Ride - Durango. Riders can ship via Bike Flights, and purchase a pro-tune up for the ride.

  • Event Parking.

Parking will tentatively be provided at the La Plata County Fairgrounds during the time we are in Pagosa Springs. Site maps will be released summer of 2023.

  • We’ve taken the best routes in Colorado and simply improved their logistics, routing, and options.

For those looking for an additional challenge… Colorado’s Ride will now have a “Molas Pass Return” option on August 19, 2024. This route is an alternative option to the Silverton Express route, which includes riding the train locomotive!

We have also been approved (tentatively) for a new route on August 23, 2024. Cyclists will enjoy a freshly paved road with less traffic on the final day of riding.

Lastly, the Durango Fariground is allowing indoor camping for 2024. We also have a new venue in Pagosa Springs right on the river (Mary Fisher Park). Pro Tip: It has natural hot springs. 😉

  • Week long registration is $675.00 + Tax/Sur. That makes the 2024 tour the most economical, professionally supported tour in Colorado.

On a budget? Ride the “Molas Pas Return” route and save the $$ on the train. Likewise, cyclists that register before 01.15.24 with an official team are eligible for a $100 discount.

Camping services, which includes access to the Pagosa hot springs, Durango recreation center, and venue facilities is $100.00 for the week.

Colorado’s Ride is capped at 350 riders total. This does distribute some expenses across a smaller base of participants, which will provide a better overall experience but does push the participant cost up slightly.

  • Rider registration fees are allocated for expenses directly associated with riding the bike.

Rider registration includes Day Bag Support (Day 1), Train Ticket Services, Aid-Station Support, Start Venues, and support from the following organizations… Colorado State Patrol, Colorado Department of Transportation, Rapid Response Medical, Summit Cycle Solutions, Town of Durango, Town of Pagosa Springs, La Plata County, Archuleta County, San Juan County, Bureau of Land Management, Venue Management Fees, Train Services, Private Land Use Fees.

Camping Registration (extra $100) includes 24/7 Hot Springs Access, Durango Venue Fees, Access to Recreation Centers, Portable Toilets, Parking, and Luggage Transport (one bag per) to / from Pagosa. Camping is limited to 80 total riders.

  • Colorado’s Ride is socially inclusive. To do this, we are eliminating the fiscally inclusive registration fee.

Many tours have made the mistake of promising ancillary services beyond riding the bike. This allows for expenses to balloon out of control. Colorado’s ride is a platform for access to local amenities.

Rider registration does not include camping venue fees, hotel services, local transportation, airport transportation, meals, bike shipping, or any other services not directly associated with riding a bike.

  • Did I read the above inclusions correctly? Yes.

The day one rider experience will include riding to Silverton (49 Miles) then catching the narrow gauge railroad back to town. Bikes will be transferred to Durango via Summit Cycle Solutions.

New in 2024, riders have a Molas Pass return option (in lieu of the train). Please make sure you select the correct registration pass at the time of route announcement.

  • Yes! We will have enough train tickets to provide a seat to significant others. Please email us at info@coloradosride.com for details.

  • Camping: Indoor camping (only) will be allowed at the Durango Fairgrounds, and outdoor camping at Pagosa Hot Springs (Mary Fisher Park).

Venue access includes entry to the Pagosa Hot Springs, Durango Recreation Center, and luggage transport to / from Pagosa Springs. The camping venue fee is $100 for the week.

Hotels: Hotels are booked via Summit Cycle Solutions. Riders will be able to have luggage transferred to / from Pagosa Springs as a part of the program with Summit Cycle Solutions.

Camper Vans: Colorado’s Ride does allow for camper vans, and small trailers. Each vehicle must be able to fit in a parking spot. If you are using a camper trailer please make sure you can disconnect and fit in a parking spot. All camping is “dry camping”. Hook-up are not available.

  • Colorado’s Ride is a small tour which means we operate a bit more authentically. Riders aren’t a number in the system.

Riders are provided a “day bag” on day 1 for transport to Silverton. Rather than waste perishable, unused aid-station food we ask riders to pack their specific nutrition (gels, bars, etc), and clothing in the day bag each day.

Aid-stations will still have snacks, water, and facilities. Colorado’s Ride is a hybrid model whereas riders can pack meals, nutrition, and energy supplements in the day bags, and still receive aid-station support. Do not rely solely on the aid stations, take a supply of items on your own, or in the day bag.

  • Routes on Colorado’s Ride are fully supported. This means riders will have Colorado State Patrol, Medical Services, Mechanical Services, and Ambulance Services on site.

Routes are intentionally designed to be “enjoyable” rather than “extreme”. The estimated support to rider ratio is 1:25 while on route.

  • Colorado’s Ride is limited to 350 riders. We expect services will be limited in nature.

    1. Secure rider registration.

    2. Secure lodging via Summit Cycle Solutions.

    3. Secure transportation services (flights, bike shipping, parking).
